That was true until we met VTech Snug-a-Bug Musical Critter! I was pleasantly Surprised at how Entertaining and Captivating our VTech Snug-a-Bug Musical Critter was for our 1 year old and 4 year old. I will definitely, without hesitation, be including these in all of our Birthday/Holiday List!

I got it for my 4 month old granddaughter, and I have to say, she was so mesmerized and smiling because it really did tickle her. It is one of the cutest baby toys I've seen in awhile. It plays different music and talks. It really is a great learning toy and my granddaughter absolutely loves it. Highly recommend

She loves the bright colors and engaging sounds that it makes! I love that it is engaging her in learning skills! Its soft too it can be played with at bed time and on the go! Snug a bug

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I got this Vtech Snug a Bug for my 18 month old son, and he loves it! We call it his Love Bug. It is lightweight and the perfect size for him to carry around and take in the car. He bounces and dances to the music and likes the tummy light. I  love that it has a playtime mode and sleepytime mode. The playtime mode teaches colors and shapes, and plays upbeat music. The sleepytime mode plays softer music and the bug will make cute little sounds. I also like that there is a low and high volume, we usually have it on low unless we are driving on the highway and it's hard to hear. I spot clean this with a damp washcloth with a little soap on it.

I was watching him in the mirror- hugging, kissing, & dancing ( in his car seat) as he looked with amazement. It was so adorable!!! He hasn't loved something like this with any other toy.

Features volume control & automatic shut off. Requires 2-AAA batteries. 
The developmental benefits are endless from motor skills, language,visual, & exploration.  
To change settings there is a Velcro opening in the back to switch from daytime to bedtime & off. 
Honestly I can't say enough about this little big. We love it!!!!

Vtech Baby Snug-a-Bug

Got it for my granddaughter,  she loved it, the belly lighting up and it sang to her.  At 7 months, it is her favorite toy!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My 21 month old loves this adorable VTech Snug-a-Bug Musical Critter! He loves testing out all of the different buttons and carries it around hugging it. The only thing I don't like about it is that the back velcro doesn't stay closed. It only has velcro on one side and it's expected to catch and secure to a piece of fabric. Unfortunately, it doesn't work they way it was intended.

Entertaining

This is an adorable little toy! I bought it for the little guy that I babysit because he loves stuffed animals. He was very enamored by the lights on the belly that are activated when you push either the belly or any of the arms. 
It sings several different songs (both educational and just fun) that are interesting and attractive to little guys that love music. 
I love the fact that it has two different volume levels a play and a sleep mode which determines which type of music it sings. The only reason I gave it 4 stars is due to the fact that the sleep mode has a few songs that I feel are a little too upbeat for nap time. During nap time it would be good to have calming and soothing music that would help a child sleep (some of the songs are but some are a little more rambunctious and may excite more than soothe.) 
Aside from that one (possible personal) down side, this is a great toy for any little guy or gal needed some fun!

Got one for my 2y/o son when he was a baby, he loved it! Got one for my 6 month old daughter but she doesn't care for it.

This toy has to be the worst. I've purchased this toy twice for my grandbaby.  The first one was for Christmas and that didn't last a month and this one here was purchased as you see in Jan less than a month later and has stopped working. I thought maybe it was the first one that was defective but they all are defective. I wouldn't waste my money on this toy at all
