I am a huge believer in supporting women in life and in business.

A woman’s mind is incredibly capable. So much is learned and experienced through working, parenting and experiencing life as a woman. So, it’s no surprise that some of my favorite products and brands have been created by women! The contributions that women have made throughout history have been instrumental in fostering an extraordinary degree of inventiveness and originality. In 2019, women made up forty percent of all businesses in the United States. Women have introduced products that have altered the course of history and revolutionized entire industries. Thus, we want to highlight the female-owned brands we adore.

Hana Tonic.

Renee developed Hana Tonic to assist people in taking pleasure in their lives by combining her enthusiasm for using natural ingredients with the findings of research conducted by the National Institutes of Health. Renee immediately realized that the benefits of Hana Tonic extended far beyond the temporary alleviation of occasional motion sickness.

Hana Tonic is an anti-nausea shot that contains organic ginger and a dose of cayenne. It is formulated with the finest components to alleviate nausea, support digestion, and encourage overall wellness. Renee, a native of the Hawaiian island of Maui, is the founder. She was motivated to develop a natural anti-nausea remedy after experiencing severe motion sickness while traveling on the notoriously curving road that led to her childhood home of Hana.

I’m a HUGE fan of Hana Tonic because it’s not overpowering, and my kids even like it!

Aiden + Anais

Baby blankets made of cotton muslin are familiar in Australia, where Raegan Moya-Jones spent her childhood. Yet when she moved to New York City and created a new life there, complete with a family, she could not locate them anywhere. Hence, she established the baby blanket brand Aden + Anais in 2006.

Aden + Anais is a design-conscious firm that has been focused on making baby goods that are thoughtfully crafted for more than a decade. They put a lot of love and thought into every new hand-painted print they launch and every new product. They produce necessities that have the potential to become treasured heirlooms by sourcing the highest-quality yarns from all over the world.

Big Little Feelings

Whether we’re first-time parents, running a little daycare in our living room, or have a Doctorate in child psychology, parenting is hard, and obtaining straightforward, credible, and practical advice for everyday issues is more complex. Deena and Kristin established Big Little Feelings to provide parents with the materials necessary to make it through the toddler years and thrive. Kristin, whose background is in international maternal childhood education, gets real as the Mom who shows you how to make that expert advice work in your home. Deena, also a mom, brings years of clinical experience as a licensed marriage and family therapist specializing in children ages 1-6.

Boppy

When Susan Brown almost unintentionally came up with the idea for the Boppy, she had already decided to quit her day job. The daycare center where her child was enrolled requested that parents bring in pillows to support infants who could not sit up independently. Brown devised a pillow in the shape of a C in just one night.

The Boppy Pillow is a female-owned brand with products that have turned into essential items in modern nurseries and has acquired cultural importance that is being passed down from mother to mother. The Boppy Pillow, a winner of multiple awards, is the original pioneer and trusted leader in nursing pillows. It is most famous for having the shape of a capital “C.” Because of its adaptable design, it can provide support for both Mom and baby while feeding, propping, doing tummy time, and learning to sit, which makes it an essential item for both Mom and baby throughout the first year of the baby’s life.

Hayneedle

Hayneedle is an online retailer that carries home furniture and decor that caters to a wide range of tastes, interests, and, most crucially, price points. Hayneedle provides everything we could ever want or need for our house, from mattresses to dressers to storage benches and even ideas for a man cave. This includes anything and everything we could ever want or need for our bedroom.

The three founders of Hayneedle, Doug Nielsen, Julie Mahloch, and Mark Hasebroock, got their start in the e-commerce industry in 2002 when they bought a single internet company called Hammocks.com from a llama farmer in rural Washington state. Over the following few years, the company opened additional online stores dedicated to a specific product category. As a result, the company developed a portfolio of websites that focused on indoor and outdoor home furnishings, accents, and decor.

Hidrate spark

Nadya Nguyen worked as a data analytics consultant at Deloitte in Minneapolis before dedicating herself full-time to her firm. She started eating better and exercising more after deciding to put her health first.

She completed all those tasks but was still exhausted and sluggish. Nguyen then nearly passed out from thirst one day as she returned home after a 10-hour volunteer shift. She realized she had been dehydrating herself all day. Even though she paid special attention to her health, Nguyen knew some frequently disregarded water. She set out to make maintaining hydration simpler and created Hidrate Spark.

Little Words Project.

Adriana Carrig, who also serves as the organization’s CEO, established the Little Words Project. In 2012, she received a degree in English Literature from The College of New Jersey (TCNJ). After being bullied for several years, she finally decided to take action to make a change. The mission of the Little Words Project is to encourage more acts of kindness among women worldwide, one bracelet at a time.

The bracelets are all produced by hand, and each one features a different motivational phrase on it. Each bracelet has a tag attached to it that has a registration code written on it. This code is needed to register the bracelet, which enrolls us as a member of the Nice Girl Gang, a group of women committed to uplifting and supporting one another.

This is J

Jaimie Harris, the founder of This is J, has always loved creative fashion. Combining her love of creative fashion with her passion for practical clothing felt like a natural progression. The majority of the things she designs are born out of necessity. From the headband she sewed 20 years ago to keep her hair out of her face while studying for university exams, the pajamas she started making when she couldn’t find ones that were the right fit and feel for the level of comfort she aspired to achieve, or the kid’s products she started designing once she had her kids, this is one female-owned brand that has a little something for the whole family.

Hand printed with their one-of-a-kind and colorful designs, This is J sleepwear and fashion accessories are known for their incredibly plush feel, ability to wick away moisture, and chic appearance.

Mabel’s Labels

Four moms established Mabel’s Labels for a few different reasons. To begin, the partners in the business saw a gap in the available goods on the market that a valuable commodity could fill. As they labeled their children’s items, masking tape and permanent markers were the tools of choice for parents. They wanted to do more than that, so they developed an incredibly long-lasting and adorable customized label product for all the things that children misplace. The second motivation behind the founding of Mabel’s Labels was to break away from the conventional labor force. Julie Cole is one of the company’s founders. Julie’s eldest child has just been diagnosed with autism, and she launched the company hoping to find a better balance between her home and professional life.

Mable’s labels can be stuck onto one’s personal belongings to prevent those items from being misplaced. It saves time and money for parents, since we don’t have to go out and buy new things for our children.

Earth Mama Organics.

Melinda Olson is the founder of Earth Mama Organics, an incredible female-owned brand that provides relief for pregnancy and beyond. Melinda is a nurse, a mother, and a grandmother. In addition to these roles, she is an active gardener and herbalist. Melinda started learning about medicinal herbs and how to extract their healing abilities in the spring of 1997.

Melinda began utilizing herbs she grew independently to create organic tinctures, teas, soaps, and salves in 2002, which she then distributed to friends and family. They are remedies based on ancient people’s knowledge and experience and were successful. Melinda thought the world was ready for these treatments, most notably pregnant and postpartum women, their newborns, and their families. There is even a range of items aimed specifically at providing solace and support to mothers who have experienced the loss of a baby.

Ergo Baby

Karin Frost, who lived in Maui, was unhappy with the many infant-carrying alternatives that were accessible to her in the year 2002. She tried seven different carriers, hoping to keep her newborn boy close to her body. While several carriers worked quite well, they needed to be more comfortable and ergonomic to meet all her requirements. She had a background in design, so she set out to create something that was convenient for parents and pleasant for them to use.

Ergobaby is a female-owned brand that aims to supply baby carriers and other parenting goods of the best possible standard in quality, safety, ergonomics, and thoughtful design worldwide. They recognize, based on their own experiences and the findings of previous research and studies, that there are significant advantages for a child’s development in the long run if they can feel safe and attached to their parents in this ever-evolving world.

The spoiled mama

During her pregnancy, Tamara Johnson became increasingly frustrated by the prenatal skincare products available today, which often contain harmful chemicals and preservatives. As a result, she was inspired to create products that are not only safer but also more luxurious to assist mothers in feeling as though they are being “Spoiled.”

The entire collection from this female-owned brand is vegan-friendly and free of horrible pollutants that could harm our unborn children or us. The Spoiled Mama is a leading brand of skin care products for pregnancy, and physicians and OBGYNs trust the brand’s products since they are backed by science and Mother Nature in their formulations.

Yumi

Angela Sutherland and Evelyn Rusli quit their careers in finance and journalism, respectively, to start an organic baby food company together. After having her first child, Sutherland saw a need for organic baby food and decided to fill it.

Yumi collaborates with reputable farms that are both USDA Certified Organic and Non-GMO Project Verified to provide fresh food and nutritious meals that are potentially risk-free for the child. In addition, both the raw materials and the finished goods go through consistent testing for the presence of heavy metals.

Wrapping it up

Because there are so many incredible brands and items on the market, we need to be sure that the ones we buy are worth the money we spend. Many women-owned businesses offer outstanding versions of common necessities even if we’re trying to be more deliberate about where our money goes.
