On a recent trip to my local pharmacy, I stopped by the disposable razor section to pick out a new razor. I was so bored of my old razor and felt like it wasn’t doing the job. I was shocked to see how the disposable razor section had grown! There were so many choices and colors and types. I decided to put a variety of razors to the test to find the best one! I’m hoping this list of the best disposable razors will help you in your hair removal journey, too!

The Experiment
I grew out my leg and underarm hair for 3 days between each shave. I used one razor on each side of my body and compared the results. My skin is somewhat sensitive, and I am prone to razor rash, so I must use shaving cream. I used Cremo Lavender Shaving Cream (my favorite) with each razor to even the playing field. Below you will find my favorite disposable razors on the shelves today.
Best Disposable Razor
Flamingo 5 Blade Razor For Women
I loved this disposable razor! It immediately glided along the hair, taking off the stubble while leaving me free of razor bumps. I felt the shave was very close, much closer than I had been getting with my previous razors and my husband even commented on how soft my legs felt. I really love this option! It comes with 1 razor handle, 2 cartridges and a shower holder in nice packaging. The handle is nice. It has texture on it to prevent your hand from slipping. I also love that this razor is more environmentally friendly since you reuse the handle and only throw out the blades between use. I would highly recommend you give the Flamingo razor a try.
Runner Up
Gillette Venus Treasures
The Gillette Venus Treasures razor set is another great option! It easily removes hair and pivots nicely on the skin without leaving much razor burn. It’s a slightly cheaper option too as it is 3 razors for the price of 2 of the Flamingo Razors, however, these are true disposable razors. You throw out the whole razor when you are done, so it isn’t as environmentally friendly. It’s a great option for someone looking for more bang for your buck, or to use when traveling.
Other Razors We Tried
Walgreens 3 Blade Disposable Razors
These razors didn’t wow me. They did the job, but they are a little more expensive than the Gillette and Flamingo options and I found that I had to go over some areas of my legs twice to get all of the hair. It’s ok if you are in a pinch, but they would not be my go-to razor.
Billie 5 Blade Razor
Oh, how I wanted to love this razor!!! It comes in super fun colors and is a great price! You get 1 handle and 4 razor blade refills plus a magnetic holder for the price of 2 flamingo refills. However, this razor just felt cheap. The handle is made of cheap plastic and has no grippers, so it is easy for the razor to slip out of your hand. We also felt that the blade itself had too much pivot or movement so it was harder to get hard-to-reach nooks and crannies. I also had a tremendous amount of razor rash after using the razor, so this was actually my least favorite razor option that I tried.
Schick Hydro Silk Sensitive Women’s Razor
This razor got the job done, but it didn’t feel as smooth as some of the other razors we tried. I do like the price point since you get 5 different blades with the razor, so if you are on a budget, it isn’t a bad choice. Performance-wise, it’s just average in my book. I didn’t have a ton of razor rash after using this one though, so that is a bonus.
Walgreens Twin Blade Disposable Razors
This is a true “budget” razor. If you are trying to pinch your pennies, go for this razor. You get 10 razors for about $3, which is a phenomenal price, but just know you need to go slow and use lots of shaving cream to avoid a few cuts and bumps along the way. The blades are sharp, and they work, but they can take a toll on your skin if used too hastily.
