I was recently introduced to the amazing mom boss, Renee Louis-Charles, the founder of Hana Tonic, an organic nausea relief shot.
Renee developed the energy shot after experiencing waves of nausea and motion sickness on the winding roads of Hana in Maui. She didn’t like the pills that were available to help her find relief at the time, or the drowsy side effects many of the medications left her with, so she set out on her own to create something that was more natural and uplifting.
Now, I will be the first to say that I am not normally a fan of ginger-based drinks.
They typically repulse me. While pregnant, I tried many of the ginger options on the market as I suffered from consistent morning sickness with my son, Charlie. As friends would pass on ginger tea, dried ginger, candied ginger, and ginger lollipops I would smile and say thank you and secretly throw them away, because I just hated the taste!
After hearing about Renee’s story, I wanted to try her product.
The fact that her children were drinking this and enjoyed it meant that it must be different.
Shortly after Renee sent me a sample of her products, I woke up one morning feeling awful. I had eaten something the night before that didn’t agree with me, and I was sick on my stomach for hours. My skin was gray and clammy, and I couldn’t really eat anything, so I decided to seize the moment and try Hana Tonic. Boy was I pleasantly surprised! While Hana Tonic is filled with ginger, it did not taste so ginger heavy. It was super drinkable and nicely balanced with pineapple.
Within 15 minutes of drinking the energy shot, my nausea was completely gone.
I was shocked. Within 45 minutes of drinking the tonic, I had energy and felt good enough to shower and do my makeup, and I was able to get through the rest of my scheduled day without any problems
It worked so well on me; I decided I should let my daughter Lola try it.
Lola suffers from motion sickness in the car. As I was packing her up for a father-daughter camping trip, I asked her to drink a little and see how she felt. She immediately drank it. She thought it was quite tasty. It has a tiny little spice at the end, but she had a sip of water and was fine. She even settled down for a nap in the car with her father afterward.
So, what’s my take on Hana Tonic?
First, it’s great! Second, it is totally palatable and fresh, and it helps with nausea. I would highly recommend you give it a try to enhance energy, cure morning sickness, or perhaps help if you’ve had a few too many holiday cocktails the night before.
The product comes from Hawaii and is available here!
