I’ll be the first to admit that before I started working as a travel advisor I really didn’t think it was a relevant profession. I can tell you now that I have proven myself very wrong.

1. There are no extra fees to work with a travel advisor, our services are free.

This detail may vary however, in the majority of situations travel advisors don’t charge fees to work with them. So how do travel advisors get paid? Well, when we reserve your travel the vendor pays out a commission to us. This allows us to provide a service at no extra cost to you. This doesn’t make your vacation any more expensive. Truthfully. if that commission doesn’t go to a travel advisor it will go to someone else.

2. Travel agents can save you money.

The savings don’t come in the way of “secret deals” or “better pricing.” It is because we know how to find you the best pricing. Have you ever searched for a resort and noticed the pricing varies? Travel agents know when there is an available promotion to apply to your travel. We also have the ability to price match and ask for a comparison from the vendor. I can’t say this works every time but, vendors are very willing to help and travel advisors who will always do their best for you.

3. You have someone on your side.

Sometimes, no matter how well you plan, travel can go wrong. Yes, it is stressful but, having someone on your side to help you in a time of need is invaluable. Considering the unpredictability of the world we live in you can expect that plans may not go as expected. One of the ways we prepare for the unexpected is by discussing the option of travel protection. I see how long some families have waited for these special vacations. They might spend a little more money than they did in the past because these moments together are more valuable than ever. It’s heartbreaking when travel goes wrong and clients are then financially burdened. Travel protection is “peace of mind”, you hope you don’t have to use it but, you are really relieved in the event it’s needed. We survived 2020 and canceled an entire year’s worth of work in a matter of weeks. I assure you, we can navigate any situation that arises. We also have a newfound wisdom for how to prepare for the unexpected and our advice is invaluable.

4. Travel Agents save you time.

Yes, the internet is a great invention for finding information about practically anything. However it can also turn into a time vacuum and if you are are busy mom, wait you ARE a busy mom. Your time is precious. Travel agents know more about the destination than you do. Their knowledge either comes from personal first-hand experience or resources that the average consumer does not have access to. If you really love planning, travel agents are not here to take the joy away from you. There is a balance in every client-advisor relationship to find what works best. If you want to make an Excel spreadsheet with all of your meals and activities, go right ahead. If you have no desire to make a single spreadsheet for your vacation because you look at them all day long, let us take that burden off of your shoulders. Beyond the research, we save you the time of making phone calls and waiting on hold to reserve your vacation.

When it comes to planning travel we know how stressful and time-consuming it can be. The goal of a travel agent is to take that burden away from our clients so that you can focus on family and enjoying time together to make those memories.
